Valencia’s cemetery project amongst the 20 most influential projects of 2024 worldwide

The “Requiem in Power” project that will provide free energy to households in energy poverty through solar energy produced in 5 cemeteries has brought a special recognition to the city of Valencia. As one of two Spanish initiatives, it has found its way on a list of the world’s top influential innovation projects in 2024 published last year by the Project Management Institute (PMI). This is thanks to its pioneering public policy and its concrete commitment to exiting energy poverty through social innovation, renewable energy and . The award highlights Valencia’s role as a national reference for urban innovation, particularly through initiatives that place citizens at the centre of decision-making and promote a fair ecological transition.
