Webinar: “Impact through trust: Co-designing energy communities with vulnerable households”

This last webinar in the POWER UP series will feature the experiences of the pilots in Campania (Italy) and Eeklo (Belgium), showing how local energy communities can become credible and trusted actors in fighting energy poverty by designing tailored energy services.

Both pilots faced extremely challenging contexts, from political instability in Italy to regulatory hurdles in Belgium. Yet both managed to unlock practical renewable energy solutions for vulnerable households by combining creativity, local partnerships and co-design spaces with people in vulnerable situations. This session will explore their journey: what worked, what failed, and what others can learn from them. Participants will be invited to offer their thoughts and experiences.

Moderation: Marine Cornelis, Next Energy Consumer

Speakers:

  • Felipe Barroco, AESS Modena talking about Campania (Italy): Working against the odds to create a community energy model
  • Jan De Pauw, EcoPower talking about Eeklo (Belgium): A Municipality-Driven Model for Energy Solidarity
